"The most important benefit is the elimination of "bacteria soup" in the bird bowls."

Melissa Morris-Radoe of Pflugerville, TX has over fifteen species of parrots including African Greys, Electus, Cockatoos, Macaws, Conures, and Amazons. Melissa currently has about 150 birds. “I started raising birds after I sold my fitness and tanning business. Currently I have 4 aviaries. In two of the aviaries I have two birds in each flight cage suspended from the ceiling. In the other two aviaries I have walk in flight cages that are about 15 feet long and five feet wide,” says Melissa.
Melissa has been using an Edstrom automated watering system for 5 years. In two of the aviaries her system contains ˝” PVC pipe and parrot valves which are connected to a pressure regulator. In the other two aviaries the water is given by individual water bottles using the parrot valve. According to Melissa “Edstrom’s automated watering system cuts my watering time by about 80%. It makes me very happy because my birds do not get exposed to bacteria in their water, and I do not have to clean slimy bowls. Raising parrots isn’t easy work, but it is rewarding and fun. I have a smile on my face at the end of every day.”
